UPDATES: KANTO REGION FINISHED!

After an unfortunate hiatus again, a small milestone for this project has been achieved.

facebook comments

I have finally completed all Pokédex entries for Generation 1 (Kanto)! The evolutionary families of Aerodactyl, Snorlax, Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Dratini, Mewtwo, and Mew have been added to the Kanto page.

So... Don't know what else to say! Sometimes I wonder why I work on this project, but when I complete even one page it makes me feel happy to have done it. I hope my interest towards this project as well as yours stays alive!

One last thing to mention: I'm thinking about changing up my weekly updates in the way of Pokédex entries. Perhaps I should complete one dex entry per generation a week - in other words, each week will have at least one entry from Generation 2, 3, 4, & 5. I dunno, just an idea.

UPDATES: Item Dex, Lapras, Ditto, and Porygon through Kabuto's family added

I am happy to announce I have much more than just Pokdex entries after a two week hiatus.

Firstly, the evolutionary families of Lapras, Ditto, Porygon, Omanyte, and Kabuto have been added to the Kanto page.

The other massive update is the Item Dex! I finally finished it! It is a massive 36 page document that lists all items in Black/White and Black 2/White 2. But that's not all; the Item Dex also has several sub-category lists to make searching easier, including attack-boosting hold items, items that only work on certain Pokmon, Incenses, medicines organized by how much health they restore and much, much more! The Item Dex can be found in the Indexes page.

But wait, there's one more thing! The Item Dex also features an Item Maniac list. But if you'd like to look at a tiny document with just the Item Maniacs, it is also available as a standalone document on the Indexes page. The regular Item Dex still features the exact same information, but the Item Maniacs list is separate to save disc space on your computer, if necessary.

That's it for this week! Hopefully I will be able to update again next week. It all depends on my work schedule.

PROJECT NOTES: Updates tomorrow

Been swamped with work again (which is why I didn't get around to updating last week). Sadly I've only made 5 Pokemon families in the two week hiatus. I'm unfortunately not able to access the computer to update tonight, sorry. I will push to bring you updates tomorrow though. :)

UPDATES: Eevee's family added to Dex; slow news

Once more I am facing slowed progress on this project, but at least I have something to update with this week.

All of Eevee's extended evolutionary family has been added to the Dex. They have been grouped by the generation they were introduced in. Vaporeon, Jolteon, and Flareon are bundled into one, Espeon and Umbreon in another, and finally Leafeon and Glaceon in a third. Eevee appears in all three of these guides.

You will find links to all of its forms over at the Kanto page as well as the newly created Johto and Sinnoh pages.

That's it for now, sadly. I hope I can squeeze in some more entries at the end of this week, but there's no telling.

UPDATES: Electabuzz through Magikarp's family added; More delays on Item Dex

I know, after two weeks hiatus, you'd expect more updates from me. Unfortunately, there is nothing new outside of my usual updates.

The Kanto Page has been updated with the evolutionary families of Electabuzz, Magmar, Pinsir, Tauros, and Magikarp.

The Item Dex is reaching closer to completion, but it will still be a while until it is published. I got preoccupied with writing all of Magikarp's "hundreds" of catching locations that it took up most of the time I usually spend on this project. Once more, a thousand apologies for delaying the Item Dex again.

That's all for this week. I will try picking up weekly updates again.

PROJECT NOTES: Unfortunately no updates this week

I've been very busy the past week, as it has been the week before Fall Break (which means final grades) at the school I have been helping as a TA. I sadly haven't gotten anything worth mentioning done for the Pocket Monstrosity project this week. Plus, next week I will be on a road trip with my family, so the chances of getting a lot done then are somewhat slim.

I apologize for the inconvenience. Hopefully I can get something done next week. We'll have to see. :)

UPDATES: Goldeen through Jynx's family added

This week's updates include another group of Pokémon added to the Kanto page. The evolutionary families of Goldeen, Staryu, Mr. Mime, Scyther, and Jynx have been added.

That's unfortunately all I have to offer this week. I still have a lot to do for the Items guide - I want there to be multiple ways the information is listed, e.g. all listed alphabetically, all by medicines, etc.

UPDATES: Rhyhorn through Horsea's family added

The items guide is unfortunately not finished as I had hoped and therefore its publication will be delayed. There is a lot more information to write down than I gave credit.

In the meantime, the Kanto page has been updated with the evolutionary families of Rhyhorn, Chansey, Tangela, Kangaskhan, and Horsea.

PROJECT NOTES: Documents fixed

I've fixed all the documents that had the heading issues. They should be in proper alignment now.

PROJECT NOTES: Misplaced headings

I just noticed this morning that a lot of the Pokémon documents have misplaced headings on some of their pages. For example, Rattata's pages has a prematurely placed "Locations cont." heading. this is unfortunately something that happens when I delete and add information to the tables. I will do my best to fix all of them tonight.

UPDATES: Symbols & Abbreviations List updated, Exeggcute through Koffing's family added

Another simple update this week.

The List of Symbols and Abbreviations guide from the Indexes page has been updated with a cleaner, more organized look. It has also been updated to explain the Stat Data tables found on every Pokémon page.

In addition, the evolutionary families of Exeggcute, Cubone, Tyrogue, Lickitung, and Koffing have been added to the Kanto page.

That's it for now. More Pokémon and the Item guide to be added next time.

UPDATES: Berry List + Gastly through Voltorb's family added

This week’s updates include the list of Berries obtainable in Black/White and Black 2/White 2. The PDF comes with two different lists – one in the berries’ numerical order, and another alphabetized. The Berries List has been added to the Indexes page.

For Pokémon pages, the Kanto page has been updated with the evolutionary families of Gastly, Onix, Drowzee, Krabby, and Voltorb.

That’s it for this week.

UPDATES: Farfetch'd through Shellder's family added + Genesect; Gen V Abilities added; tumblr stuff

Finally getting on a roll with updates :)

This week's additions include Kanto's evolutionary families of Farfetch'd, Doduo, Seel, Grimer, and Shellder. Genesect has also been added to the Unova page since no official guidebook covers it and its release to America may be coming close.

The Indexes page has all Generation V Abilities explained in-depth.

Finally, Pocket Monstrosity's Tumblr blog has now implemented the option for others to submit their Moveset ideas! Each week or two, 3-5 randomly generated Pokémon will be chosen for analysis. Currently Ninetales, Braviary, and Seismitoad are the focus group. The Pocket Monstrosity Tumblr is not concerned with Smogon's rules, so feel free to be creative with your movesets! When the window to submit is closed, the admin will write up separate posts for each moveset to be evaluated by the Tumblr community! Don't have a Tumblr or don't want one? You can just leave a comment in the post listing the chosen Pokémon instead!

That's all for this week. More updates planned for next week.
