PROJECT NOTES: Updates tomorrow

Been swamped with work again (which is why I didn't get around to updating last week). Sadly I've only made 5 Pokemon families in the two week hiatus. I'm unfortunately not able to access the computer to update tonight, sorry. I will push to bring you updates tomorrow though. :)

PROJECT NOTES: Unfortunately no updates this week

I've been very busy the past week, as it has been the week before Fall Break (which means final grades) at the school I have been helping as a TA. I sadly haven't gotten anything worth mentioning done for the Pocket Monstrosity project this week. Plus, next week I will be on a road trip with my family, so the chances of getting a lot done then are somewhat slim.

I apologize for the inconvenience. Hopefully I can get something done next week. We'll have to see. :)

PROJECT NOTES: Documents fixed

I've fixed all the documents that had the heading issues. They should be in proper alignment now.

PROJECT NOTES: Misplaced headings

I just noticed this morning that a lot of the Pokémon documents have misplaced headings on some of their pages. For example, Rattata's pages has a prematurely placed "Locations cont." heading. this is unfortunately something that happens when I delete and add information to the tables. I will do my best to fix all of them tonight.

Project Notes: Update Delays

There's a little backtracking I need to do before updates will be ready, so hang tight for a little longer, everyone.

The biggest issue is the format of the Pokédex pages, but it's not really something you will drastically notice. Sad to say, for some reason I never used actual tables in Microsoft Word when creating the pages. Instead, like an idiot I placed a bunch of loose textboxes everywhere to act as tables, but the end result was never that great - not all the boxes lined up right, all the type sprites had to be manually scooted around, and my computer overall (being an old one) was choking to keep up with my demands. For the life of me I can't remember what was going through my head.

So, in short, I'm using actual tables instead of text boxes to sort all the information. Problem is, this is going to take a while to copy over all the data, as once more I have to manually punch in all the information. The result will be very minor, but it may lower the filesize of each Pokédex entry.

Project Notes: Designing Locations Dex, Indexes Update

UPDATED PDF FILES:
Caterpie's evolutionary family - Locations added

Gah, sometimes it gets rather tedious and annoying haiving to type in so many terms into a document. It is worth the time, though :)

Currently, I'm about midway on the Attacks and Contest Moves indexes - I'm up to Leer, now.

The interactive Flash hasn't been updated to tell this, but I've begun creating "Locations" pages detailing where to catch each Pokémon. Currently, Caterpie's family is the only one completed, as its evolutionary family has a ton of locations from which I was able to create the template from. The Locations section will be bundled with the General moves and Breeding Information pages in each PDF file from now on.

So if any of you have been downloading parts of my guide, soon you may want to redownload them to include the Locations section

Project Notes: indexes, animated banner?

Hey everyone, just here to let you know of progress and thoughts with the Pocket Monstrosity Project.

I've been recently halting production of the Pokémon pages and instead working on the indexes - namely, the Generation V attacks and Contest moves (from the Hoenn and Sinnoh regions). It's a lot of work, I won't lie. Right now, the last term written is Cotton Guard, so I have a LONG ways to go. But I shall press on, for it's incredibly important to have the indexes on hand while looking at the other information for this guide. The Attacks index won't be available until it's finished though. But I wanted to let you know why I haven't churned out Sandshrew's family info yet.

It's also crossed my mind how I need to better advertise the pages to the PM guide. All the files are in PDF format, so you won't get to actually see them until after you've downloaded - but that's only after you wait 20 seconds from the external filesharing site to allow you to download the file at the slowest speed possible for free. That's quite a while to wait and see if you're interested in a product.

Perhaps, then, I shall make the banner at the top of this blog animated? Think about it - it'll be able to cycle through the sample images automatically, right at the top of the blog. BANG, you get to preview the product in like two seconds. While a sample image is up, if you click it, you'll either see the fullsize preview image, or go directly to the download page the sample image is showing.

I should try it out sometime. In the meantime, I hope my interactive Flash menu is helping you find what you need.
